Many parts of your microscope can be updated or replaced including microscope lamps, lenses, and eyepieces. Replacement lamps, light sources, and power cords can extend the working lives of your microscopy equipment. New or replacement objectives and lenses can help increase the total magnification available with your microscope.
Add greater magnification or exchange your eyepiece for one with a reticule to more easily estimate the sizes of the items being viewed.
Replace or update your mechanical stage or clamps or add cell culture vessel adapters to facilitate specimen positioning.
Condensers can also be replaced, and conversion kits are available to add phase contrast, polarization, fluorescence, or other capabilities to your current system.
Some microscopes can be adapted for use with still or video cameras. Look for cameras and adapters designed for your specific microscope brand. Film and documentation-related products may also be available to support your record-keeping.
Temporary, semi-permanent, and more long-term slide storage options include:
- Slide racks that securely hold slides during staining procedures
- Folding fiberboard or plastic slide holders with horizontal indentations that keep microscope slides in place

Electron Microscopy Sciences PS78 Micrometer Standard with Graticules Cert
These stage micrometers are available with a calibration certificate that provides traceability for the precise calibration and confirmation of accuracy of optical measuring instruments, necessary under ISO provisions. The glass discs are mounted in stainless steel slides with engraved serial numbers. Each slide is supplied in a polished wooden storage case. A Certificate of Comparison from Pyser-SGI, Graticules Division compares the scale to a NPL calibrated in-house standards. A statemen is provided on the accuracy of the item with respect to these standards.

Specimen blocks are safely stored in Blocklock storage modules, a component in the BEEM Specimen Storage System 2000. All Blocklocks can be inserted in a Plastic Protective Box or, by utilizing the adhesive feature, mounted in combination with other Blocklock modules on the BEEM mounting panel that fits in a standard " D-Type" 3-ring binder. Micrometer Slide Micromanipulator
The M325 three-axis manual micromanipulator is built of precision micrometer-actuated linear slides. Each slide is comprised of a large micrometer head and a spring-return linear slide. The micromanipulator was designed to minimize wear in the moving components to achieve a long operational life without the necessity for frequent maintenance. The micrometer head is graduated in 10 µm steps which enable repeatable positioning to an accuracy of ± 2 µm.
A unique spring return mechanism is used to transmit movement of the micrometer spindle to the slide carriage, eliminating backlash, lost motion and reducing thread wear. Each linear slide utilizes ball bearings which enable the M325 to carry loads of up to 1 kg.
The tool holder can clamp onto tools with shaft diameters of 3.0 mm to 12.7mm and allows rotation around two axes.

CoverWell Perfusion Chambers allows up to 16 different specimens on one coverglass. "Press-to-Seal" covers form water-tight, multiwall cell incubation or cytochemistry chamber when pressed to coverslips or microscope slides. Reagents can be quickly added and removed through dual access ports (1.5 mm Dia) without disturbing or cross-contaminating specimens in adjacent wells. Chambers are removable for permanent mounting of specimens. CoverWell chambers are made from medical grade silicone bonded to clear, UV transparent plastic.

Electron Microscopy Sciences Chalkley Point Array Graticle NG52, 16mm
Eyepiece graticle is used to quickly determine the relationship of components to each other using random sampling. Curtis gives an example of its application, where a researcher may want to see whether or not a certain drug affects the volume proportion of cell types in a given organ. With this graticule the proportion of points lying over the image of one type of component is statistically proportional to the area occupied by that component. The 25 points of the array are placed over the field of view at random, so that a comparison can be made between the number of points touching the one type of component, with number touching the other type of component in each viewing. A series of observations will yield an increasingly accurate ratio of the comparative incidence of each type of particle.

Generally, one differs from the other by color (Muscovite is Ruby, Green or White; Phlogopite is Amber, Yellow, or Silver). The maxoperating temp.for Muscovite is about 500-600 degree C & for Phlogopite is about 800-900 degree C. Our line consists of High Quality Muscovite Mica. This mica peels off very thin up to 0.0001" uniform layers, exposing "virgin" mica upon splitting.
Muscovite, potash type mica, sometimes known as granitic mica, is the best of all micas in dielectric strength, perfection of cleavage, & transparency. It has the chemical formula: H2KAI3(Si04)3. Stained A Quality. Hard, med. air inclusions uniformly distributed in usable area; slight green vegetable stains, med. waviness, & heavy waves if specified.
